Phase 2: India Yankee 2

During the last few weeks in Hosavidahundi we have been very busy with various tasks. To begin we carried out different PRA activities including a timeline, Venn diagram and a map of the village which allowed us to fully integrate with the community.

Once the PRA was complete we moved onto preparing for our first health camp and then made progress with beneficiary selection, which is where we chose the villagers for whom we will build toilets. We have also spent a lot of time undertaking surveys within our village and the two surrounding villages, Hosaveedu and Madavilahali. We have also spent some time getting to know the elders and children of the village by playing cricket, getting involved in Indian songs and dances and drinking chai.

Our progress to date includes completing over 100 surveys, selecting 20 beneficiaries and successfully running a health camp at which 161 people were seen. We were also able to reach over 100 people with health awareness lessons. We are all having a great time and look forward to sharing our experience with everyone back home.

Everyone says hello to their friends and family back home and send our love.
