Four days ago we arrived in Kannagre, a
beautiful village in the mountains in the heart of Tamil Nadu, our home for the
next nine weeks.

We are being cooked
for by the locals, so far we are just about handling the spice and chappathis
are the highlight of our day.
Getting down to business, we have started
PRA’s with the villagers. This is a research tool used to evaluate the village
resources and identify their needs. Our social mapping exercise was a great
success with most of the village turning out to create a map of the community.
We have been conducting household surveys which have been a great opportunity
to meet the villagers in their homes and get to know them a bit more.
It’s monsoon season here so we have been
making the most of the sun in between the daily thunderstorms. Despite the mud
being everywhere we are just about surviving using the long drop.
So
far, it’s been an incredible experience with stunning views and we’re excited
to spot out first elephant!

Hey Sam, good job you varnished your head mate, it looks well wet. Wow what an adventure you must be having. Vik has been in touch, whe might be comin round on sat for a chat. all good here sam, i bin wearing your brown jacket, its well warm innit. seen the bond movie, class...savin up for your christmas pressie. its very quiet here, hope you got our letters. we gonna be down to collect you at the airport. Im off to the spa for my birthday, ill get a toblerone and you can give me the money when you get back. Moms new car broke down a couple of days afte she got it. Rubbish cars fiat.......yikes what am i saying. gonna be weatherproofing your garage soon, so its nice and warm for you and your boozy uni pals. gma wants a card m8.......drop her aline. hope you are ok. we all loe you and miss you but glad you re getting out there. keep off the stuff that gives you gutache. come back safe

Hi Charle(IR4) great to see you in the new photo but you all look a little wet? Is it hot & wet there at the moment? I hadn't realised it was the rainy season? Issi had a nice quiet birthday yesterday & is having a party next week! She is looking forward to it! We hope you are having a great time see you next month
